• Don’t keep food that has been exposed to heat from the fire. If in doubt throw it out. No sense in adding a case of food poisoning.
• Mix up a large bucket of clean water and a mild detergent and wipe down all the faucets, door handles and other metallic surfaces that have not been damaged. Follow this up with a light coating of oil such as olive, almond or even Vaseline. Use a clean rag to lightly rub the oil on.
